King County Garage Door Request a callback

Common questions

Using this site

What happens after I submit the form?

Your request goes to one independent garage door company covering your town. They call or text you, usually the same day during business hours, talk through the problem, and quote the job. You are free to hire them or not.

Does it cost anything to ask?

No. The request is free. If you hire the company, you pay them directly for the work they do.

How many companies will contact me?

One. Your request goes to a single company covering your town. Nobody else gets your number.

Is this a real company?

This site is a referral service, not the contractor. The work is done by an independent garage door company that calls you back.

The job itself

What does garage door repair cost?

It depends on what broke. A spring replacement prices differently than an opener board or a panel swap, and the same symptom can hide different problems. The tech who calls should diagnose before quoting, and a real quote itemizes parts and labor. On any job over a thousand dollars, Washington law requires the contractor to hand you a written disclosure statement spelling out your rights, and L&I advises paying as phases complete rather than everything up front, so a pro who wants the whole check before starting is a flag.

Should I repair or replace the door?

Depends on age and condition. A ten year old door with a broken spring is a repair. A twenty year old door needing springs, rollers, and an opener is closer to the line where the same money goes further toward a new one. Ask the tech what the repair actually buys.

My door is stuck shut with the car inside. What now?

That is an emergency call, and most pros treat it that way. Do not keep hitting the opener; a door fighting a broken spring burns out the motor. If you can reach the release handle safely and the door is balanced, you may be able to lift it by hand, but a sprung door can be heavy and a binding one can drop. When in doubt, wait for the pro.

How fast can someone get here?

Same-day is the norm for repairs across the county, and emergency calls (car trapped, door stuck open overnight) usually jump the queue. New door installs run on a longer clock since the door itself often has to be ordered.

Do they work on weekends and evenings?

Most independents cover evenings and weekends for urgent calls. The pro who calls you back will say what their schedule looks like for your job.

Trust

How do I know the company is legit?

Washington registers every contractor through the Department of Labor and Industries, and the registration is searchable. Ask the pro for their registration number and look it up on the L&I site before they start. Registration means they carry a bond and liability insurance. Any company that hedges on that question is not worth hiring.
